Liz Martin created The Charleston Weekender in 2015 as a side hustle to add a little creativity to her life as a speech therapist. Her line of products quickly emerged into a lifestyle blog intended to inspire Charlestonians to live every day more like it’s the weekend. She offers products discovered during her travels, as well as some of her own designs/products such as Turkish towels, because #everydayimTasselin.
The CW blog and Instagram focus on home decor, Charleston recommendations, and mental health advocacy. Liz proudly sits on the advisory board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and seeks to inspire others to feel less alone in their struggles with anxiety & depression.
In 2017, Liz opened the shop with another local entrepreneur. Having both been selling their wares around town at various markets and retail stores, they began to amass an amazing network of fellow creatives. Thus, our Collective was born as a place for other local brands to sell their wonderful products. A "Balloon Bar" also seemed like a great addition to the party, because why not?!
In 2020, life just did not seem challenging enough right? Then Liz suddenly became sole owner. She stepped up to take the reigns with gumption, gusto, and a caulking gun.
